A woman giving a peace sign in Bathurst Station, TTC

She originally was smoking at platform level. Once I pulled my camera out she put out her cigarette. I did manage to get her to pose by screaming across the track and told her to wait for the train coming into the station. Wanted to try LO-FI digital BW.

Homeless Man Sleeps on Subway Platform

A homeless man sleep on the TTC subway at Christie station.

___________

A homeless man sleeps on the platform as TTC subways fly by without being waked. Although it doesn't look like it, I'm actually about two feet away from this guy - I was really worried he'd wake and harass me for taking his picture! Spotted at Christie station EB platform on Thursday night.

The station platform at Bathurst station on Sunday morning heading eastbound. The train was taking forever so I decided to put my camera on the ground to get a shot of it coming into the station. I think I have a similar shot from Ossington Station in 2008.

Repairing the TTC Subway Tunnel

A TTC crew working to repair the electric functions of the subway at Runnymede station

___________

I can't remember the last time I shot in the TTC. I was on the way to shoot some stores this morning when I caught this at Runnymede station on the Bloor-Danforth line. The workers didn't seem to mind that I was taking photos of them which is always nice. I shot this subway station once in 2006, and again in 2008.

Small layers that exist in certain images are always interesting - especially when those elements are isolated. For example, the men in the tunnel, the subway operator, and the children in the window; aren't aware of each other but from this view they all can be seen at once. Things like that have always made me stop and look at photos for longer periods of time rather than just skipping them... or maybe I just read into it too much.
